Knauf Insulation Introduces Eclipse™ Air Duct Board

Knauf Insulation Launches Eclipse™ Air Duct Board

Knauf Insulation launches Knauf Eclipse Air Duct Board Knauf Insulation has launched the new Knauf Eclipse Air Duct Board. With visibility minimized at venting points, the Knauf Eclipse Air Duct Board allows the air duct system to be less noticeable to building occupants.

The Knauf Eclipse Air Duct Board uses a special blackening process coupling a black glass mat with a black surface dye to provide a deeper black color than other standard boards. Knauf Eclipse Air Duct Board is used in commercial and residential air handling installations as a cost effective alternative to sheet metal systems. It is designed for cooling, heating or dual-temperature service where thermal, acoustical and condensation control are required. Acoustically Eclipse Air Duct Board systems reduce noise generated by air turbulence and mechanical equipment. Knauf Eclipse Air Duct Board is GreenGuard certified as a low emitting product for IAQ peace of mind.

Knauf Eclipse Air Duct Board has a molded shiplap edge on all thicknesses, which provides easy fabrication by machine or hand, giving a tighter seal and a stronger joint. Knauf Eclipse Air Duct Board's consistent density makes fabrication fast and easy in the shop and on the job site; and helps prevent tenting, which means less hassle when handling.

The Knauf Eclipse Air Duct Board is available in two stiffness values-EI-475 and EI-800 and in thicknesses of 1", 1.5" and 2". Both types are available with butt edge or factory molded male-female shiplap edges on all thicknesses. It has a service temperature up to 250°F; air velocity at a maximum of 5000 fpm; and a water vapor transmission rate of less than 0.02 perms. The airstream surface of Knauf Eclipse Air Duct Board is treated with an EPA registered, anti-microbial agent that prevents growth of mold, fungus or bacteria in accordance with ASTM C1071, G21 and G22.
