Edwards Company was founded by Robert Edwards in 1872 in New York City. The company was one of the first in the country to explore the new phenomenon of "Electricity" and to manufacture, sell and install battery-operated igniters for gas lamps. Among the company's first customers was a New York City church where sextons has previously climbed a 100-foot ladder to light gas fixtures located high above the pews. The company soon ventured into the manufacture and installation of signaling devices. Today Edwards products are installed throughout the world - from the bells that begin and end each session of the New York Stock Exchange to the complex signaling and fire alarm systems in petrochemical plants. Edwards signals are behind more success stories than any other. Our 132 years of industry leadership is stronger than ever -- ensuring you get the most advanced devices today's technology has to offer.
