Solving Ltd, a subsidiary of Ab Solving Oy of Finland, supplies manual and automated material handling equipment for the movement of heavy loads. Wheels or air bearings are chosen to support the equipment, depending on the weights involved, frequency and distance of move and the degree of automation required. Full AGVs, for example, are more likely to be electrically-powered wheeled vehicles whereas loads over 30 tonnes are frequently moved on air skates or air film transporters.
