Smythson of Bond Street was established in 1887 by a man called Frank Smythson. He developed a range of leather items that had a mix of luxury and practicality to them.These items included panama note books and diaries, to larger items such as travel document holders and bags. Throughout the years these items have remained in the collection and still hold that key image of Smythson as they did when they were first brought out. Slight alterations have been made to the products in order to bring them up to date with the passing years, and colours can vary from season to season, however the key concepts of the Smythson image are still very much a part of the products.
